SC 190 and 489 visas close to quota

This is quite a recent development and we are just starting to obtain feedback from the department on this matter, it relates to the SC190 and 489 visas.

 

It appears that the department may be close to their quota for these visas and there may be some delays in processing.

 

If applying for one of these visas and you if you had been considering front loading PCCs and Meds it may be worth waiting until we have a clearer picture of the situation and the time frames involved. I am sure we will hear more in the coming days.

Well, I do not understand this. GSM has 28.000 visas allotted for this year. The latest report shows only 10.000 visas were given for 190 and 489. All other visas included in GSM are insignificant in numbers. So how can they be even close to reaching their quota?
