Sydney Tramway Museum
I knew the Sydney Tramway Museum had been around for quite a few years, but it came as a surprise to find it began back in 1950, something I found out when I was checking out their website, as we were thinking of going down that way again sometime soon.
The Museum is a non-profit community organisation run by volunteers and is located in the southern Sydney suburb of Loftus, adjoining the Royal National Park. It can be reached by car or train. If you,re going by car, it is just a bit south of Sutherland on Rawson Avenue (formerly the Princes Highway). Heading south, the Museum buildings are on the right just before Rawson Avenue joins the bypass. By train, catch a Waterfall service and get off at Loftus, one stop past Sutherland.
Check out their website for further details, in particular of opening times and special events (if any) that are held from time to time: Sydney Tramway Museum.
