Hi all! I am coming from the UK to live in Sydney at the end of August with my girlfriend and we are trying to look for areas to live and trying to work out the costs etc.

My company is going to situate our offices in the north of Sydney, so I am thinking that around here would be a good place to start looking. I have been recommended areas around Neutral Bay and Waverton. We would be looking to rent initially before deciding where to buy.

I was wondering if anyone could give me any advice about these areas or suggestions of areas to live or letting agents to use?

We are both mid 20s and enjoy mountain biking and football (soccer). We would like to be in a relatively lively area as we need to make new friends!!
