Are you planning to live in Sydney? Sydney is the most expensive place to live in Australia and it will be difficult to find a room for much less than $150 a week.

Sydney Terraces is one place which is pretty cheap. Your other option would be to share a house/flat with some friends. Don't forget also to factor in the costs of your utilities - gas, electricity etc.
