Hi, I live in the UK and am applying for a job in Sydney with a minimum of $52K wage. I converted it and looks ok for here, but don't know if it's realistically enough to live well there, ie. have a flat of my own and money left over to have fun with?

I would say it is on the low to medium side, typical of a new graduate with some experience. It depends on so many factors as to whether it will be enough. If you are single then it should be ok, but if you have a family I think you would struggle. Rental prices are crazy in Sydney. You might consider sharing a house or flat to save some money.
