It has to be the Harbour and the amazing beaches.
We have one of the greatest harbours in the world and there is an absolute abundance of activities, from sailing, to para-gliding, scub diving and jet boats. The beaches are reknowned world wide as being clean, good surfing conditions and most are patrolled by life guards and have shark nets for safety. Yes, we do have sharks but attacks are very rare and normally on unpatrolled, un-netted beaches. Add to that the Sydney Nightlife, the tourist areas of the Blue Mountains and the Hunter Valley, both of which are only an hour or two away. There was a saying that referred to Queensland, but it's also suitable for Sydney ![]() "Beautiful one day, perfect the next".

Sydney is the most popular and beautiful city in Aussie not only in Australia but also it is the one of the most beautiful city in the world. These are the most beautiful places in Austrailia; Akuna Bay, Batemans Bay, Bondi to Cogee Walk, Jenolan Caves, Kangaroo Valley, Snowy Mountain, If you haven’t visit these places I would like to recommend don’t miss the chance in your life.

I love the buildings. Most of all i love Sydney because i was born here, in Surry Hills, and have grown up watching Sydney what it has become today.
Although there are things that i dont like due to the fact ive seen the massive changes that happened in society which have meant the slow ethnic cleansing of my people, White Europeans, out of the suburbs they built and have now been replaced by chinese and other non-Australian peoples. Against the will of my people of course. Thanks for nothin to the traitor-politicians of this country. |

Hi Ya Sidewinder
![]() I sort of agree, not that im against other races, i just wish that there was more interaction and intergration, rather than having suburbs for Chinese, then suburbs for Lebanese, then other areas for Islanders etc. Nice to see you dropping by

I'm doing a virtual tour of all places mentioned in this thread. I just saw images of the Blue Mountains and they are breathtaking for sure. I saw a lovely close-up image of the Three Sisters as well.

Hi Luba,
The Blue Mountains are no where near as high as the mountains you have in Canada. They probably peak around 1200m (4000 feet). They lay at 1 hrs drive west of Sydney and as you start to climb up them, my house is on the escarpment so i get to enjoy the mountain life, including the views over the Sydney Basin. Warragammba Dam is beautiful and was closed to the Public for many years due to some work being done and also the risk of Terrorist attacks. It is now open and thankfully we are back up to 78% storage. We did drop down to as low as 29% i believe and we were drawing from other dams to help top it up. The Three Sisters is about another 55mins drive as you go up the Mountains and is at almost the peak. They are located on the wall of a huge valley which is an amazing view and has the most terrifying Cable Car that you have ever been in. It is also the home of the worlds steepest train track and you can go to the bottom of the valley in a small train which has overhead cages, special seating and seat belts etc. I believe the angle of descent is probably around 50 degrees so its quite an exciting ride ![]() There are many other great sites and locations in the Blue Mountains, lots of very wild and rugged country, huge cliffs, deep valleys and some great walking trails. As with all remote areas, any person undertaking a walk should use the correct safety proceedures, report the trip details to local Police, family or friends, carry ample water, communications and a first aid kit at all times. EPIRB's are an advantage if available.
