Snooks, your view must be nothing short of magnificent! I tried to look up photos for that but all I could find is maps.

Have you actually gone on the Cable Car with your family? As much as I love amazing views, my fear of heights wouldn't allow me to do that. That train track descent sounds pretty scary, too.

Do you get quite a few of stranded or lost hikers up in the Mountains? There are quite a few each year and it's getting so that they might be paying the price for the Emergency rescues, as the general public has to foot the bill. So far it's just talk, I believe.

I've been in both the Scenic Railway and the Cable Car a few times. Funnily enough, although I am scared of heights to a certain extent, I didn't have a problem with the Cable Car. The Scenic Railway, on the other hand, I found very scary and I was clinging to the seat.

The exact opposite to you, Fran I am terrified of hieghts, even as in climbing a ladder

I did go on the cable car when i was about 12, but you couldnt get me on the now if you offered me a million bucks. The scenic railway car i went on about 10 years ago and it didnt scare me too much.

PS. I believe the railway car is acknowledged as being the steepest railway track in the world.
